Finnish film and TV companies participating to Bigger Picture, Elisa NordicTV team and the BP project team met on Friday, 30 November at Elisa's premises to kick off the project.

The companies were briefed about the next steps of the project, including training and meeting with matchmakers in Helsinki on 18 January and on 14-15 February, the latter being in the context of Europe-Asia Roundtable Sessions event. 

A planned visit to China on the week starting on 18 March was introduced. 

The kick off event also included Elisa's latest news about its NordicTV to be launched in China in 2019 and presentations on the potential Chinese film and TV industry partners, TV market in China and regulatory issues.


Kati Nuora presented the Bigger Picture project at Baltic Event on November 28. The other participants in the China co-production panel were Ms Jin Yangguang (Shanghai International Film Festival), Mr  Jinsong Yang (producer of Ash is the Purest White) and Ms Yiran Song (Director of Acquisition at Times Vision).

The panel discussed the opportunities and challenges of the current Chinese market. The good news was that the market is getting more matured and therefore the niche markets are developing fast. There are also emerging opportunities in the art house scene with Nationwide Alliance of Arthouse Cinemas
